Jason Park

Jason Park has been building smart homes since before "smart home" was a marketing term. Starting as an electrical engineer and home automation hobbyist in 2008, he transitioned to full-time technology journalism in 2015.

His pivot to pet-focused smart home content came from personal necessity. As the owner of two anxious rescue dogs, Jason began building automation systems to reduce their stress while he worked. The results were so effective that other pet owners started asking for his setups.

Today, Jason tests every smart pet device he can get his hands on—from Matter-certified thermostats to experimental AI pet cameras. His reviews prioritize practical implementation over spec sheets, focusing on what actually works for busy pet owners.

Jason lives in Seattle with his wife, their two dogs (Luna and Max), and approximately 47 connected devices. His home automation system has achieved "spouse approval," which he considers his greatest technical achievement.
